St. Albert River Lot Trading Post

St. Albert is the home and orginal settlement of the Metis people. Trading posts were a significant placeholder in the communities to meet, buy and trade goods. The incorporated society St. Albert Metis River Lot Trading Post has invisioned to bring back the trading post to St. Albert. They hope to collaborate with the Arts & Heritage Foundation and the City of St. Albert bring the trading post back to the present.

We are adding the option that will allow you to donate items worthy of our sale that we can sell in the garage sale. If your item doesn't sell, we will be donating the items to Habitat for Humanity or one of the other groups such as LOSECA. If you want your item back you need to be there at 3:00 pm to take home. (The work for us to track who things belong to and to store them is too intensive.)

St. Albert Hospice Association - Lighting the Way

November 14th speaker will be Heidi Evans from the St. Albert Sturgeon Hospice Association. She will be speaking about their Lighting the Way Campaign as well as providing more general information about the work they do to support those living with a life limiting illness.
We will be doing a cheque presentation to them as well at the meeting.

![]() Diana Davidson agreed to speak at one of our meetings. She works for the Government of Alberta - Municipal Affairs and she is the Director of the Public Library Services. She is also an award-winning author of creative non-fiction. She won the Writers' Guild of Alberta's Jon Whyte Memorial Essay Prize and was longlisted for the CBC Writes CNF Prize. Her writing has appeared in Alberta Views Magazine, Avenue Edmonton Magazine, and the Winnipeg Review. In 2011, she was chosen as one of Avenue Edmonton Magazine's "Top 40 Under 40." Pilgrimage is her debut novel.
Diana is also the Inbound exchange student counsellor at the Edmonton Glenora Rotary Club.
